Bookmakers being a little too generous to Newcastle?

Bookies - Newcastle are heavy favourites for Boro clash
I think every person who follows football, fancies an odd punt here and there to try and show their ‘unquestionable’ football knowledge and today, thousands if not millions backed what they saw as definite winners be it in the Premier League or the Football League. Some lost big money on United & Liverpool, some people won big money on the either side. The beauty of betting eh? Well talking of bookies, Newcastle face Middlesbrough tomorrow in what could prove a pivotal tie for either side. West Brom’s game today was called off, meaning we could go 10 points clear for the meantime, if we manage to overcome Gordon Strachan’s side.
William Hill had Newcastle at favourites with the odds of 2/7 and that was just not worth the risk for many a punter. They now offers odds of 3/4 which is considerably better but for anyone feeling lucky, preferably Boro fans, putting a tenner on Strachan’s side would see you get a nice £48 back, with the odds nearly 5/1.
Obviously Newcastle are favourites but Boro will be no walkover as QPR saw last week, mauling what was then Jim Magilton’s side. To say that Newcastle will win comfortably, is the overstatement of the month, and I think it’ll be too close to comfort.
Hopefully I’ll be wrong and we’ll win about five nil, but I’d be very surprised if that happened. Perhaps now you won’t be so keen to splash your hard earned money on the boys in Black and White?
