Steven Taylor could well have played his last game for Newcastle United

Taylor - About to leave his boyhood club?

It’s sad when it has come to this, a Newcastle United player, brought through the ranks, and having becoming a Newcastle United first team member, looking for the exit door at St.James’ Park. Sky Sports News (who else?) are reporting that the local lad, could be set for a move to David Moyes’s Everton side who are fighting a losing battle with their own English centre back, Joleon Lescott. If this news is true, which we hope it’s not, then it’ll really put gas to the fire and the frustration will be taken out on Mike Ashley more than ever before. It’s sad to see the likes of Bassong and Beye leave, and indeed Damien Duff, but to see a lad who’s dream it was to play for NUFC, on his way out, really shows you how much we have fallen.

There are no indications from Everton’s behalf just yet but it was revealed that an Everton official was present at yesterdays game between Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday. Indeed he wouldn’t have been disappointed as Taylor was named MOTM with another solid performance. We certainly hope this is just speculation and that Sky Sports are wrong on this one but it isn’t looking too good for the fans. You’d have to ask yourself whether Taylor would swap Tyneside for Merseyside, that we don’t know, but should he reject the opportunity to play for the Toffees then what a hero he’d be then! Apparently it all hinges on Barry Moat’s takeover and Alan Shearer becoming manager.

Really hard to know isn't it? I think Moat is our safest bet to be honest but we'll just have to wait and see. Could be foreigners..

Thanks Dan. Yeah, I've read that too, hope there's truth in it and that the sale is completed by the Crystal Palace game but it's Newcastle, you just never know!

Here's a few if's If Moat doesnt buy what happens then ? If Ashley stays what next ? If Stevie Taylor goes who'll replace him ? If Shearer say's no who'll be manager ? Sorry to be negative today but yesterday i was feeling really positive 3 points against Sheff Wed i was looking forward to the Palace game and then the news about Taylor being in talks with Everton has really put a dampner on things because for Taylor to have talks with Everton if you read between the lines it looks like Shearer wont be taking the managers job because i feel certain if he had Stevie wouldn't be going anywhere if theres no sale today and Stevie signs for Everton if we get a bad result tomorow it could just be the tipping point for the fans at the moment we seem to be getting carried away because we've had a couple of good results but lets not be under any illusion there's an awful lot of games to be played yet and we have a thin squad thats getting thinner by the day i'll be searching the internet all day today hoping for good news i hope we get some

Here’s a few if’s If Moat doesnt buy what happens then ? If Ashley stays what next ? If Stevie Taylor goes who’ll replace him ? If Shearer say’s no who’ll be manager ? - Well first of all David Craig has been on Sky Sports to confirm that Newcastle will not be accepting any bids for Steven Taylor. The other matter is, the hierarchy are still in talks with 3 bidders meaning the discussions could go on for another week. David Craig indicated though that Monday could bring something worth noticing.
